Try this very tasty recipe for American-style potatoes with a special seasoning. You will fall in love with their flavor from the very first bite.
You will be surprised how quick the preparation of these potatoes is. Their taste is completely different from classic baked potatoes. You will love their flavor and texture and this recipe will become one of your favorites. The side dish is simple, and you don’t need any special ingredients.
For preparing this recipe you will need:
- 1 kg potatoes
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon marjoram
- 0.5 teaspoon basil
- 0.25 teaspoon hot spice mix
Do not peel the potatoes, just wash them thoroughly. Cut them into even slices or wedges. Put all the sliced potatoes into a bowl where you mix all the ingredients. Add the oil, oregano, sweet paprika, marjoram, basil and a little hot spice mix. Mix everything well so the potatoes are evenly seasoned.
Preheat your oven
Before you start baking the potatoes, you must have the oven well preheated. Turn it to 180 °C and let it heat for at least ten minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the baking tray. Line it with baking paper so it covers the entire surface of the tray. Arrange the potato slices or wedges on it, which you already have coated in the seasoning.
Place the potatoes on the tray into the preheated oven and leave the oven on fan-forced heat at 180 °C. Bake for about 60 minutes, until the surface of the potatoes turns golden. Then turn off the oven and let them finish cooking.
The potatoes will be delicious; they go great with meat or even fried cheese. They taste good with mayonnaise or with fresh tzatziki.
