Beautiful and cute animal, which is, however, a disaster for the garden. The mole doesn’t care whether it digs up our garden at the flowers, vegetables or elsewhere. Its hobby is digging up the entire garden. Learn how to properly and effectively drive the mole out of the garden.

A small warning

What’s the most important thing? That the mole is a protected animal, so you simply must not hurt it. You must only catch it and carry it away or simply expel it from the garden. Try several methods that may help you.

Moles can’t stand noise

A mole cannot stand noise, so it will certainly be ideal if you let children run around the garden or you yourself walk around the garden several times a day. You thus create vibrations that the mole is afraid of. You can also buy a mole repellent.

Bring in a dog

Preferably a hunting dog, but overall dogs do not like moles. Dogs bark, push at them, but also dig up molehills, so if your dog is in the garden every day, the moles will steer clear of your property. Cats act the same as dogs. They can also dig up molehills and with their long paws may try to pull the mole out.

Coffee grounds will also come in handy

Do you love coffee and are you making Turkish coffee right now? Great — definitely don’t throw the grounds away, but use them on moles. Coffee emits strong essential oils, so these smells are really repulsive to moles. Pour a cup of coffee grounds onto each molehill in the garden and mix it with the soil as deeply as possible.

Use anything that smells strongly

For example garlic, basil, pickle brine, vinegar — you can try pouring them into the molehill. Pour the substances into each molehill, but not just once; regularly. You will see that these odors will force the mole to flee from the garden. We warn you again: it’s not enough to apply the scent once; you must do it several times.

Take a rake to help

As soon as little mounds from moles appear in the garden, take a rake and level all the piles with the ground. You will cover the mole’s burrow, so the mole will have to dig the tunnel again — do this regularly every day, be patient.
