Who wouldn’t want to cool off in pleasantly cold water during a hot sunny day? Even though it doesn’t look like it right now, summer is indeed approaching and with it more pleasures and worries. To be able to enjoy a hygienically safe swim in the pool, the water in it also needs proper care. Good filtration is a given for removing dirt that falls in during the day, and we can kill bacteria with chlorine and various chemical mixtures that we regularly add to the water. Whether you plan wild fun in the pool or sunbathing on a lounger, these activities will certainly be more pleasant without the smell of chlorine.
Vitamins help not only our bodies
A young mother, who was at her wit’s end and didn’t know what to do with iron-rich well water, came up with an absolutely shocking method of maintaining pool water. Chemicals were out of the question because of the young age of the children, so she tried all kinds of natural ways to get rid of unwanted components and bacteria contained in the water from her own spring. Then she came up with an interesting idea. Why not try the vitamins our body needs? If they can deal with bacteria in our bodies, why couldn’t they do it in water? After several experiments she found which one is the right one – vitamin C!
Harmless to health and odorless
Vitamin C, or L-ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble nutrient. It can handle iron-rich and cloudy water; you just need to dose it correctly. For a pool with a volume of 6 cubic meters add 200 g of vitamin C and mix well. It is ideal to use this method of water cleaning with the filtration turned on so the powder disperses well. In addition, cleaning with vitamin C will cost you many times less than chlorine tablets. 1 kg of vitamin is around 300 CZK.
