Are flies and wasps bothering you every year and you can’t get rid of them? If you don’t want to use window screens, we’ll suggest simple tips and tricks that will help you get rid of them easily so they won’t bother you. All you need is to grow a single plant at home.

Flies and wasps will avoid rhubarb

That plant is the unique rhubarb. You can use it not only when baking various pies or cakes, but it also works as a repellent for flies and wasps. You’ll also get rid of annoying mosquitoes, which are especially unpleasant in the evening when it gets dark and you need to turn on lights in an open space. Wasps and flies can be annoying during the day when you’re grilling or sunbathing in the garden. If you also have food or sweet drinks with you, wasps are easily tempted by such treats.

Stinging insects cannot stand the unpleasant smell of rhubarb. Simply use its leaves: pick them and pour water over them. Let them steep, then strain the decoction into a spray bottle and use it as a repellent. You can pour the decoction into smaller bottles and place them wherever needed. Use rhubarb for baking only during certain periods so it won’t be poisonous afterward. For a fly spray you can pick it at any time.

For flies and smaller gnats try the power of tansy

Common tansy is a weed you can find in meadows, gardens, and ditches. Two to three tansy plants are enough for one room to help you get rid of annoying flies or small gnats. Common tansy has a distinctive scent that insects definitely dislike. Some people may be more sensitive to its smell, so place the plant on a windowsill or somewhere you don’t move around much.

You can also dry the tansy; it will last much longer that way. Put it into cotton or linen sachets and hang them in the windows. Tansy should help against insects and you can, for example, hang it under a gazebo outside in front of the house. You can also make a homemade mosquito repellent consisting of lavender. Insects dislike this herb and will avoid you.
