Prepare a simple trap that you will leave in place overnight on the counter, windowsill, or another spot where ants appear in larger numbers.
Prepare:
- Warm water 1 cup
- Sugar 1/2 cup
- Borax 2 tablespoons
Mix all the prepared ingredients together and soak cotton makeup pads in the mixture. Place the soaked pads in places where ants occur or where they march most often. Do this preferably in the evening. In the morning when you return, you will see dead ants around the pads.
How to drive ants out of the garden
- Plastic container
- Powdered sugar 1 teaspoon
- Hot water
- Boric acid 1 teaspoon
Mix the powdered sugar with boric acid or borax and pour water over it — hot or even boiling. Stir until you achieve a thicker consistency for the finished mixture. Use the ant trap during the day, not at night. At night ants leave the garden for the anthill to hide from predators. Place one teaspoon of the prepared mixture around each plant.
