Baking soda is a safe and at the same time very effective agent with which we can handle any dirt in your home. It will also help you in the garden when fighting weeds and various pests. Baking soda is harmless to people and animals, so you don’t have to worry about applying it even if there is a small child in your home.
How to use baking soda in the garden?
Using baking soda in flower beds or ornamental gardens has its advantages. It works great against all kinds of pests. At the same time this control method is very ecological, so your garden will remain free of chemical elements. It works great against aphids, mites and moths.
Preparing a solution against pests is very simple. You will need:
- a quarter of baking soda
- a liter of warm water
- a few drops of dish soap

Stir about a quarter teaspoon of baking soda into one liter of warm water. After thorough mixing add another half teaspoon of oil and shake the whole solution. Prepare this solution in a spray bottle and apply it directly to flowers or plants.
A second, equally effective version of the pest preparation also uses baking soda. Add a teaspoon of baking soda and a few drops of dish soap or liquid soap to about two liters of warm water. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and then apply to the flowers.
You can also choose a third variant, where you simply mix four liters of water with two tablespoons of baking soda, stir the solution thoroughly and apply. You can spray once every three days; that should greatly deter pests.
Do you need to get rid of weeds?
Weeds can make quite a mess in the garden, especially in a beautiful and well-maintained garden. To prevent the growth of unwanted plants, you can use a baking soda preparation. Sprinkle baking soda in the space between tiles or along the path and repeat the sprinkling several times over fourteen days. The weeds will quickly realize they are not welcome in that spot.
