Those who like walnuts can, thanks to this habit, get the right amount of iodine into their bodies. Many of us, however, eat only the nuts themselves and throw away „waste“, which usually ends up in the compost or the bin. But you can use these walnut remnants, because thanks to them you’ll get iodine into your body.
Iodine deficiency can cause irritability
If you have an iodine deficiency in your body, you may feel weak, your fingers may start to tremble, or you may feel like you remember nothing. That’s why it’s good to replenish iodine regularly, for example by consuming walnuts. Put walnuts into a bowl, pour two cups of cold water, bring to a boil and let simmer for ten minutes. Let the solution cool and drink it three times a day before meals.
You can chop the walnut partitions and inner shells with a blender. Then take half a glass of the crumbs, pour 1.5 liters of water and wait until they start boiling. Leave on the heat for about twenty minutes, then soak a cotton pad in the liquid and place it on the eyelids for several minutes.
Blood sugar levels can fluctuate depending on iodine sufficiency
Walnut partitions and leftovers can help with thyroid disease or digestive tract problems. You can take a half-liter bottle and fill 1/3 of it with these remnants. Add water, let it steep for two days, and then take one tablespoon before each meal for two whole weeks.
If you suffer from diabetes, you can also make your own tincture. Take two tablespoons of the mixture, add enough water to cover it and let it stand for a week. Always dilute five drops of the tincture with two tablespoons of water. Depending on how high your blood sugar level is, you can take the tincture for anywhere from three weeks up to three months. It depends on you and your health condition. Iodine is a very important component in our bodies that should definitely not be missing. If you don’t know how to replenish it through food, try dietary supplements.
