Prepare your supply of strawberry jam for the winter. It will come in handy not only for pancakes, but also for fritters, doughnuts, fresh pastry for cakes, buns and the like. You will also appreciate it for breakfast with quality butter and crunchy bread or a roll. Choose from four easy recipes!
Recept 1: Klasický recept na jahodový džem
Prepare the following ingredients for this classic variation:

Start by carefully cleaning and washing the strawberries. Then place them in a large pot and sprinkle with the granulated sugar. Mix everything and let the fruit marinate for about 7 to 9 hours. This will allow it to release its juice perfectly. After this time, strain the juice from the strawberries and bring it to a boil. Boil the liquid for about 30 minutes over medium heat. Finally, return the strawberries to the pot and let them macerate for 8 to 10 hours at room temperature. The next day, cook everything for half an hour and also let the fruit marinate in the hot juice ideally overnight. In the final phase, cook the jam for another twenty minutes. Put the finished product into sterilized jars, seal them carefully and store in a cool place.
Recept 2: Jahodový džem s želatinou
For this recipe you need:
- čerstvé jahody: 1 kilogram
- krystalový cukr: 1 kilogram
- želatinu v prášku: 10 gramů
- citron: ½ kusu

First wash and clean the fruit and then put it into a pot. Here sprinkle it with granulated sugar and let it marinate for two to three hours. This will release the juice. When this time has passed, stir the strawberry mixture and let it stand for about another hour. Finally, bring it to a boil over medium heat. During boiling remove the foam from the surface with a spoon. When everything has been cooked through, remove the jam from the heat and let it cool for 7 to 8 hours. Next you need to remove about half of the whole strawberries from the liquid and finely puree the rest with an immersion blender. Then return the whole fruit to the pot, drizzle with lemon juice and add the gelatin. Cook it with the strawberries according to the instructions. Transfer the finished gelatin jam into sterilized jars, close them and after they have cooled place them in a cooler spot.
Recept 3: Rychlá variace jahodového džemu
If you don’t like dealing with complicated and long recipes, this tip is made for you. In five to ten minutes you’ll have it ready. You need:
- krystalový cukr: 1 kilogram
- čerstvé jahody: 1,2 kilogramy
- voda: 100 mililitrů

First wash the strawberries, clean them and place them in a bowl. Then heat the granulated sugar together with the water in a pot. As soon as the mixture turns into a kind of syrup, add the fruit cut into pieces and cook for another five to ten minutes. Finally, ladle the hot jam into carefully sterilized jars, seal them and let cool. Store in a cool place. At first it may seem that this product will not have an intense flavor, but the opposite is true. After cooling you can enjoy a full-bodied strawberry delight!
Recept 4: Jahodový džem s mátou a citronem
If you want to prepare a unique variation of strawberry jam, go for the one with mint and lemon. You will need these ingredients:

- čerstvou mátu peprnou: 5 až 6 snítek
- citron: 1 kus

Start by cleaning and washing the strawberries. Then put them into a pot, sprinkle with granulated sugar, place in a cool spot and let stand overnight. In the morning cook the strawberries together with the fruit juice for about five to ten minutes. Then remove from the stove and let cool until the evening. Later add the washed sprigs of mint, the grated zest of an untreated lemon and the lemon juice to the mixture. Cook everything for the last five to ten minutes and finally transfer the jam into sterilized jars. Close the lids and place in a cool environment.
