Passionate kissing is pleasant, but it can leave marks on our body. If you, too, were left with a memento from a romantic night on your neck in the form of a hickey, you would certainly like to cover and hide it somehow. A high collar is a sure bet, but in summer that can be more difficult. We will advise you how to easily and effectively conceal a hickey so as to avoid any awkward situation.

How to remove a hickey?

A hickey is basically a superficial skin injury in which small blood vessels are slightly damaged, creating a bluish spot on the skin. You need to wait a few days for the hickey to disappear on its own. Women commonly mask it with make-up or concealer and powder, but that is not the most effective solution, because make-up can rub off easily and during the day the hickey may start to peek through. How to do it better?

Cold helps

You can use ice or a cold compress. Leave the compress in place for about 15 minutes and repeat the same procedure several times a day until the broken blood vessels shrink and the hickey becomes less visible.

Herbs

Herbs can also be a good choice. Try, for example, lemon balm or astringent lavender. Soak a cotton pad or gauze in an infusion of these herbs and apply it to the hickey. This will speed up blood clotting and in a few days nothing will be visible at the site.

Massage

A gentle massage of the affected area can also speed up healing. Simply gently massage the hickey with your fingers so the area gets better blood circulation and the hickey can heal faster. Repeat the procedure until the spot begins to slowly fade on its own.

Banana peel

The inner part of the peel of a ripe banana can also do a good job in removing a hickey. Apply this peel to the affected area for thirty minutes. Repeat at least three times a day until you see the hickey beginning to fade. The banana peel contains special enzymes that can soothe the skin’s surface and accelerate the fading of the skin and its regeneration.
