Summer is in full swing, which means not only beautiful weather, warmth and lots of sunshine, but also a lot of mosquitoes that constantly bother us. If you live near water, you certainly have big problems with them and getting rid of them is not at all easy unless you know exactly how. In rainy weather we all deal with them, and therefore today’s tip on how to get rid of them all in a single night will serve you well.
What will you need?
You can of course buy chemicals in the store, but home methods are best and you do not have to worry about the health of your family. To remove mosquitoes from your home you will need a few basic ingredients from which you will prepare an effective remedy. For its preparation get one cup of water, ¼ cup of brown sugar, one gram of yeast and a half-liter bottle. You need nothing else.
How to do it?
First prepare the bottle. Cut it in half. Then mix the brown sugar with hot water. Let it completely dissolve and cool. After it has cooled, pour the liquid into the bottom half of the bottle. Add the yeast. You do not need to stir the mixture. The yeast produces carbon dioxide, which attracts mosquitoes. Then insert the funnel-shaped top upside down into the bottom bottle, or secure it with adhesive tape.
Finally wrap the bottom half of the bottle with suitable black material so that only the top part of the bottle remains transparent. Black fabric is ideal for covering the bottom part, but you can also use paper. Experts say that mosquitoes rest in dark places and the scent of sugar and yeast will lure them. As a result they will drown in the liquid and you will not have a house or flat full of annoying mosquitoes that would suck your blood.
Works on other insects too
In a similar way you can also get rid of flies and other flying insects. Pour a little beer into the half-liter bottle and add some sugar. Turn the cut-off top of the bottle back so the flies that enter the fermenting liquid cannot fly back out. This is a guaranteed and time-tested method because insects really like the smell of beer and sugar. That way you will lure them in. Moreover, both methods are very simple and cheap.
