If you have a long journey or an important event ahead of you, it’s definitely necessary to clear out your bowels. It’s important not only for your mental well-being but also for your health. Sometimes, however, it happens that „it“ just won’t work and it’s necessary to stimulate the bowels so you’ll feel the need to go for a number two.

So how can you speed up the urge to go to the toilet?

There are several ways you can stimulate the bowels and get to the toilet before you set off. Nerves can kick in, for example; many people underestimate the psychological side of things, but it is proven that stress can cause diarrhea or other bowel problems.

Warm drinks, for example, can help. A big stimulator is, for instance, hot and especially strong coffee. Doctors themselves say that all hot drinks have the same property. Drinking them dilates blood vessels, the warm drink activates the bowels, and if you need to relieve yourself before a longer trip, it is the best way – tea will work the same.

Sometimes a light massage or getting up early helps

Those who get up early will calmly go to the toilet in the morning. You should remember this rule, because by getting up early and having breakfast, you’ll have time to calmly go to the bathroom as well. Before a trip or an important meeting, give your body thirty minutes. You can relieve yourself with a light abdominal massage. It will help activate the bowels and is especially helpful if you suffer from constipation.

Athletes use the following trick – they insert glycerin suppositories rectally. They take effect in 15-20 minutes, but sometimes it can happen that you will wait several hours. You can therefore insert the suppositories even the evening before an important day. Physical activity will help activate the bowels and make you go to the toilet. So give yourself a few more minutes of exercise in the morning. You should regularly consume fiber, which is very important for proper bowel function. Many people, however, have a deficiency of it in their bodies. So don’t forget vegetables and also seeds.
