From all sides models with perfect curves and slim figures gaze down at us. Some of us may be frustrated by this, because our figure is far from the models on magazine covers. But it’s not really necessary to worry. Each of us has an ideal body weight, which depends on height and overall body build.

Table for calculation

You can easily calculate your ideal body weight from the table. The table is divided into several uneven colored bands. The y-axis shows height in centimeters. The x-axis shows weight in kilograms or in the traditional units of stones. Then just find your parameters and see where the perpendiculars intersect. From that we determine whether we suffer from underweight, our weight is optimal, we are overweight, obese, or even severely obese.

Nowadays the threat of obesity is becoming more and more common

Many people, especially from economically developed countries, suffer from overweight to obesity. It is therefore recommended to pay attention to your health, eat properly, exercise a lot or engage in other physical activity and watch your weight. It is recommended to limit consumption of sugars and unhealthy fats.

Muscles must also be taken into account

It should also be realized that ideal body weight does not mean what we see on television shows or on magazine covers, but what is healthy for us. If we exceed the weight that is ideal for us, the risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, as well as damage to the vascular system and bones increases.

Last but not least, it should also be remembered that a higher body weight does not automatically mean unhealthy obesity. It mainly depends on the ratio of muscle to fat. People who actively engage in strength training should not follow this table, as their body weight may be higher due to muscle mass. In such a case it is better to measure waist circumference and other parts of the body to achieve more accurate results.
