Permanently high blood sugar levels in the blood are nothing unusual, but if you have also discovered this in yourself, it is necessary to avoid certain mistakes and possibly also prevent the level from rising further. Many people also focus on prevention, which is primarily a healthy diet and regular exercise. These are very important factors. If you ignore your blood sugar level, you may encounter other problems related to blood sugar.

Remember which symptoms indicate problems with blood sugar levels

An elevated blood sugar level is a sign that may indicate prediabetes or insulin resistance. However, you can reverse them or at least control your blood sugar level with an appropriate diet or another method recommended by your doctor. Look for the symptoms you may notice in yourself that may indicate a higher blood sugar level.

One of the first symptoms will be exhaustion. In some cases it can be very difficult to detect high blood sugar in the body. Some of these symptoms can also indicate other serious illnesses. These include significant fatigue, urinary tract infections, or even skin problems. If you have these symptoms, it is worth checking how high your blood sugar level is.

Be careful if you already suffer from diabetes

If you have diabetes, or you think this disease is approaching, even the nervous system can be affected and you may feel numbness in the limbs or your hands or feet may start to tingle out of nowhere. As a consequence of high levels you will more often feel not only hunger but also thirst. Because of the high values the body loses a lot of water, and the kidneys excrete more sugar in the urine. Sugar carries water, and you will have to drink more often.

An increased feeling of hunger will be especially noticeable with foods that are sweet. Although the blood has a high concentration of sugar, the cells cannot obtain it and the body therefore feels that it needs more and more nutrients, which of course it wants to get from food.
