A study in Spain showed that every day we see fewer and fewer children in the fresh air. 49% of children aged 5 to 12 go outside for approximately 2 hours, 11% play outdoors for less than half an hour, and 5% of children never go outside, or only rarely.

Lack of time in parenting

The fact is, however, that many mothers, due to lack of time, cannot take their children to playgrounds. The reason is also the weather and the unwillingness of the children themselves to leave their homes. It’s no wonder, since children prefer to spend time with their phones and computers rather than go out for a walk in the fresh air.

The problem, however, is that children need to have contact with bacteria not only at home but also outside it, in order to strengthen their immune system.

But since walks have become such an obstacle, alternative ways to build and strengthen the immune system have begun to emerge.

Pets and “healthy dirt”

Allow your children to play with household pets, thereby increasing the defenses of their organism.
Do not use antibacterial soaps.

Let the child get dirty and go barefoot. That strengthens the immune system.

If they put something in their mouth, you don’t have to panic immediately. It is completely normal and this impulse is evolutionarily justified in children. They get used to microbes and their own body adapts to them.

Antibiotics, sterilization, disinfection, food and hand washing

Do not overuse antibiotics just to avoid the emergence of superinfections.

There is no need to wash clothes or sterilize a pacifier every time a child comes into contact with dust, dog hair or other microbes.

Let them play with other children as well.

Give them yogurt, canned foods or chocolate.

Washing once a day is more than enough.

Excessive care does more harm than good ..

Now you know why children like to get dirty so much. Thanks to that they build immunity, are healthier and more resistant to other bacteria. Don’t disrupt it!
