It is no surprise that products abroad have much better quality and are often even cheaper than in Slovakia. Yet wages in such countries are higher. How is that possible?

No one knows. A young Slovak woman shared an interesting discovery with people. She bought a well-known children’s cough medicine Mucosolvan in Slovakia and in Germany. The difference is unbelievable.

When we were last in Slovakia my child caught a cough and I bought the children’s Mucosolvan syrup in the pharmacy.
Standard procedure … then we used up the syrup and here in Germany I bought the same syrup. The packaging looks similar, but just to be sure I checked the dosing, and I was surprised that …

The dosing of the German ambroxol is half that of the Slovak one; the effective dose is 30 mg / 5 ml while for the Slovak one it is 15 mg / 5 ml. So I thought fine — besides the active ingredient these syrups contain a lot of sweeteners, so with the same effect the child receives only half the amount of the sweet filler.

And now to the root of the matter… Then I turned the box with the Slovak Mucosolvan where the price tag still was and compared it with the price for which I bought the German one…
