In any case, you need to know where to reliably find mushrooms. The advice of experienced mushroom pickers, who know all the tricks and mushrooms like the back of their hand, can help you. When?
First of all, you need to know when it’s the right time to go for a walk in the woods. You should definitely start early in the morning. Gathering can take several hours, and the earlier you start, the fewer mushroom pickers you will meet. Weather is also very important. As soon as rain alternates with sunshine, mushrooms have the best conditions for growth. They have enough moisture and warmth. Right now is the best time for mushrooms.
Where?
You can find mushrooms in coniferous, mixed and deciduous forests. On sunny days look for them in shady and remote places. And when it rains, seek out drier and warmer spots. If you’re looking for birch boletes, they’ll be in birch forests or in clearings. These mushrooms like the sun, so look for them in bright spots. That’s where you have the best chance of finding them.

How?
Not only the weather and location are important, but also the collecting style. Never put mushrooms in plastic bags. Use baskets or cloth bags. And do not pull them out of the ground whole. Cut them with a small sharp knife right at the ground. Then cover the spot with soil, leaves, or needles that are nearby. This way you won’t damage the mycelium. And don’t forget to clean the mushrooms of needles and other debris before placing them in a basket or bag
