I want to share with you a perfect home hack for washing all dishcloths without boiling and unnecessary hassle. My sister-in-law — the school’s cook — told me about it and I can’t praise it enough. It may sound strange to you, as it did to me, but if you decide to try it, you definitely won’t regret it, it’s great! Grease disappears and even stubborn stains, and you know what’s best — it even cleaned my washing machine.
Don’t boil dishcloths, this is much better – tried and tested!
So, I wash dishcloths like any other laundry. I don’t even soak them. I put them in the washing machine and I throw in a regular dishwasher tablet — close it and wash. It’s a little magic that washing powder could never manage, the tablet did it right away. Dishcloths degreased, clean and stain-free. Since I tried it, I only do it this way. I even wash men’s work overalls like this — they’ve never been this perfectly clean, try it, it’s a fantastic thing.
I hadn’t boiled them for years, I tried the trick with baking powder that I found here and the result surprised me a lot. I add the usual washing powder and 1 packet of baking powder. You’ll see the dishcloths will just shine. Even my mom gave it a try and she used to boil dishcloths her whole life.
I use dishwasher powder or straight-up dishwasher tablets.
It washes beautifully. But I don’t use it only for dishcloths, also for curtains and white laundry. I’m satisfied with the result. And now and then I throw a tablet into the washing machine and run it empty at a higher temperature. It cleans the machine.
I also use it when I wash my son’s sports clothes for training.
The dishwasher tablet proved itself to me especially well. Try using dishwasher rinse aid to wash windows and the shower enclosure — nothing works like that, it gives a truly amazing shine.
I rescued old dishcloths like this — hot water in a saucepan, 1 tablet in the water and I washed a little by hand and let them soak until the water cooled. Since the dishcloths were very dirty, I put one tablet into the washing machine too — tablets have a bleaching effect and I use them on white laundry instead of chlorine bleach. Also, it has another great effect — the tablets dissolve built-up grease in the washing machine and clean it perfectly and get rid of odors. When I clean the washing machine, I simply put 2 tablets in, start the longest cycle at 90 degrees and that’s it. I recommend it, I’ve tested it!
