Motherhood brings a lot of work. Pregnancy, childbirth and then the actual care of the newborn. When a woman sees a crying baby, she begins to get nervous. Especially when she has already tried everything. In that case we offer you a helping hand in the form of reflexology.

What is it?

Reflexology is an ancient practice of Chinese medicine. Recently, however, it has been gaining popularity and is used to address many physical problems.

It is safe because it is the most natural and least invasive method of treatment.

Its essence is that you must massage specific parts of the feet, hands or ears with your hands, sometimes using various tools, oils and lotions.

Here are the points you need to press and massage to soothe your crying and restless child:

Toe tips – headaches and toothaches.

Press them if your child suffers from headaches or toothaches. This method is also suitable for treating throat pain or inflammation of the middle ear.

Middle part of the toes – sinus problems.

The middle of the toes is connected to the middle of our face, i.e. the sinuses. To ease discomfort in this area of the body, press into the center of the child’s toes. This method can be useful for respiratory illnesses and a blocked nose. Of course, this does not mean that you should not visit a doctor. It is rather to ease the course of the illness.

Instep – chest problems.

This part of the foot is connected to the chest area. Massaging this part relieves chest congestion or chronic colds that cause mucus buildup.

Point under the instep, middle of the foot – problems in the middle of the abdominal cavity.

The solar plexus consists of a group of nerves located between the stomach and the lungs. It is difficult to relieve pain in this area due to the large number of nerve endings. However, you can perform a massage in the upper half of the foot. It is located in the center under the metatarsal bone.

Arch of the foot – problems in the upper and lower abdomen.

When we use reflexology in this area of the foot, we can help the child with digestive problems, heartburn or intestinal obstruction.

Massaging the lower half of the arch will help cope with digestive problems, constipation and inflammation of the abdominal cavity.

Massaging the upper half of the arch will soothe a child with problems in the upper part of the abdomen.

Heels – pelvic problems.

Problems in this area are usually associated with stiff muscles and poor posture. By gently pressing the heel we can relieve these pains.

Remember, however, that reflexology does not replace any medical treatment. It only helps to calm the child.

Have you ever used this method to relieve pain?
