Such an unpleasant phenomenon as tartar appears as a result of improper or irregular oral hygiene or impaired metabolism. And although the problem does not cause many discomforts, the aesthetic factor matters.
Dark spots
Stains on teeth are not only unsightly, but are also associated with bad breath and other symptoms. For these reasons it is recommended to remove plaque. This can be achieved not only at a dental clinic, but also without leaving home.
Sometimes a visit to the doctor is postponed for various reasons
Especially in cases where the condition does not cause painful sensations and significant discomfort. But tartar is present — what to do next? If a person is aware of the possible consequences, they will not find peace.
There are many modern methods of removing tartar from teeth, but they can only be performed in a dental office. And although this procedure doesn’t take long, one does not always find the time to go to the clinic.
You can use traditional remedies
However, they will be much more effective if the plaque formed very recently. There are several simple and proven options for removing unpleasant and unsightly plaque. They consist of using various rinses and mouth elixirs, mechanically cleaning the surface of the teeth, careful oral care, and switching to a firm diet. Furthermore, there are several folk methods that will help restore and maintain a beautiful, dazzling smile.
Salad with radishes and lemon
Every evening for one week, or until the symptoms disappear, eat before bed a vitamin and cleansing salad with radishes and lemon. These products have properties that gently break down the accumulation of bacteria, mucus and food residues on the surface of the teeth, even if all of that has formed a hardened stone coating. The salad is made as follows: cut a firm radish into small pieces or grate it on a coarse grater, add lemon and slice it into thin half-moons. If desired, you can dress it with any vegetable oil.
Walnut husk
Buy dry walnut husk at the pharmacy and prepare the following miraculous elixir for the teeth. Pour 200 milliliters of water over 50 grams of walnut husk and boil for about 20 minutes. This amount is enough for about one day. The procedure must be repeated for several days, 5-6 times a day. When the liquid cools, moisten a toothbrush and thoroughly yet gently clean your teeth, covering more surface and hard-to-reach areas. The cleaning time is at least 5 minutes. Afterwards you can rinse your mouth with this product.
Waxed dental floss
Dental floss will be relevant both as a prophylactic and at the start of tartar formation. It is better to use waxed—because due to their thinness and flexibility they pass through dense and hard-to-reach gaps between teeth. But other options will also work. It is suitable after every meal. You must act carefully and gently to avoid injuring the soft gum tissue. Cleaning is done gradually, tooth by tooth. It is especially advisable to take care of the distant teeth, which are difficult to reach with a toothbrush.
Tartar is quite common
The main factors that lead to its appearance are improper salt metabolism in the body and irregular dental care. To protect yourself from trouble and avoid complications — regularly, once every 6 months, you must undergo a preventive examination at a dental clinic. You can remove it both in a professional’s office and at home, but only if the plaque has appeared recently.
