If you are a coffee lover and usually start your day with a cup of this hot drink in hand, then this recipe is definitely something you should try as a complement to your New Year’s weight-loss activities.

The coffee mix we will describe in this article will make your coffee not only healthier, but also significantly speed up your metabolism.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (we recommend Ceylon)
  • 1/2 cup fresh honey
  • 1 tablespoon raw cocoa powder (optional)

The proportions of the individual ingredients can be adjusted to your taste, so if you don’t like your coffee sweet, you can reduce the amount of honey, or omit it entirely.

Preparation method:

All you have to do is mix all the ingredients in a bowl until they are well combined. Then pour the coffee mixture into a glass container and store it in a dark place.

Usage:

Brew your favorite cup of coffee, and while it’s still hot, add 1–2 tablespoons of this slimming mixture. Now stir the coffee for at least five seconds so it blends well with the coffee and your healthy morning coconut oil drink is ready!

The beneficial effects of coconut oil are due to its content of medium-chain fatty acids (triglycerides), instead of long-chain ones. These medium-chain fatty acids are metabolized differently in the body than other fatty acids. They pass from the liver back to the digestive tract, where they are then used as a quick source of energy, thereby also speeding up the metabolism.

Studies have found that a dose of 1 to 2 tablespoons of coconut oil containing these medium-chain fatty acids increased daily energy expenditure by 5%, which for the average person amounts to a total of 120 calories per day.
