If you want to grow a bountiful potato harvest, try a new yet effective method.

Imagine that from one hundred square meters you can harvest up to 80 buckets of potatoes!

Thanks to the following method you’ll be able to stock up on potatoes even for the following year.

Row planting

When potatoes are planted in regular rows a large portion of the area remains empty. However, the aisles can come in handy!

It is recommended to plant root crops in double rows 30 cm wide. That means each row will have 15 cm of soil.

Place potatoes in each row at intervals of 70 cm.

Checkerboard pattern

This means that a potato on the left will be between two potatoes from the right row and vice versa. The distance between the double rows can be approximately 80 cm.

Ground-level shelter

There is no need to dig special pits for the potatoes.

After planting the tubers simply heap soil over them with a hoe. Yes, the planting material will be almost on the surface. That’s how it should be.

Hoeing

You will need to hoe the potatoes three or four times. Try to do it after rain or watering so that the moist soil covers the ground. Try to cover the crop up to the leaves.
