Vegetables should be a main daily part of our diet. Food affects our health and often our mood as well. It is therefore important that we get enough of the necessary nutrients.

Tomato salad with red onion

This tomato-and-onion salad tastes great with a main course, but also on its own as a light snack. It will refresh you during warm days and help strengthen your immunity in winter.

We need:

  • 5 tomatoes
  • 3 onions
  • 3 – 4 cloves of garlic
  • 4 tablespoons of oil
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of hot paprika
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

Instructions:

Slice medium-sized tomatoes and onions into thin rounds.

Chop the garlic into small pieces. Make the dressing by mixing the honey (if it is too stiff, you may need to melt it a little), lemon juice, oil, salt, hot paprika and basil. Take a bowl in which you will layer the tomatoes, onion, and garlic and repeat this process.

Pour the dressing over the top, cover with a lid and shake well.

Store the prepared salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, but the longer it sits, the more the flavors will develop. Enjoy your meal!
