Autumn is associated with dreary weather and colorful leaves that slowly but surely leave the branches of trees. Another thing that comes to mind when we say autumn is, of course, the flu.
The weather is often cold, full of rain, wind and sometimes even snow. How to fight the flu if you don’t want to spend money on well-known brands that make cold-relief drinks?
Instant powdered drinks
These drinks have become a very well-known tool in the fight against the flu and colds. When you drink them, they warm you up and can relieve you for a while.
The problem, however, is that these medicines do not cure the illness, they only relieve the symptoms. The body continues to operate in a critical mode, consuming vitamin reserves, which further weakens your body.
If you are against these instant flu and cold drinks, we have a recipe for a homemade, natural and very tasty „theraflu“ that will help you face the flu and colds. You’ll be surprised how quickly it works!
You will need
- 2 lemons
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 30 to 40 grams of fresh ginger
Instructions
Thoroughly wash the peeled lemons and cut them into quarters. Then grind them in a grinder or blend them in a blender. If you prefer a milder taste, it is advisable to peel the lemons at the start. However, if you don’t mind a bit of bitterness and you bought organic lemons, you can leave them with the peel.
Peel the ginger root and finely grate it. Add it to the lemon paste.
Then add the honey and mix. Finally, put the mixture into a container and place it upside down in boiling water, similar to preparing baby food. Leave the whole mixture to cool to room temperature and place it in the refrigerator.
Usage
If you suffer from a cold or have the flu, simply mix one tablespoon of this remedy with warm, ideally 40-degree (Celsius) water. This is to prevent the healing properties from dissipating.
It’s best to drink this beverage after a meal. This vitamin bomb can be drunk by adults and children and you do not have to worry about overdosing. You can also drink the beverage preventively.
We hope that illness will avoid you in this cold weather, and if it does occur, we wish you a speedy recovery.
