We have instructions for a fun technique for dyeing Easter eggs. Forget traditional egg dyeing with vinegar and enjoy a great time with the kids without hot water and danger. The rainbow-colored result will delight you.
The whipped cream technique
With this technique you’ll achieve perfect pastel colors that children and everyone visiting during Easter will like. There’s no limit to imagination and the final result is up to you.
The dyeing is based on coloring added to whipped cream. Thanks to the consistency of the whipped cream, the color creates an interesting irregular composition of colors on the rough eggshell.
Eggs
Eggs with white shells are ideal for this technique. You can easily find such eggs in stores from organic farming. Before dyeing, boil the eggs until hard and let them cool completely.
Dyes
Buy food colorings, ideally in gel form so their consistency is thicker. We recommend purchasing higher-quality dyes so the color result is as vivid as possible. Choose colors that can be combined and will harmonize together.
Cream
Create the cream for coloring from whipping cream with at least 30% fat. Buy at least 500 ml, but adjust the amount according to how many eggs you plan to color. Use a mixer to whip it into a stiff cream.
Dyeing the eggs
Then divide the cream into bowls according to how many color combinations you want to create. Ideal bowls are wide and shallow. Add food colorings to the cream. Then place the eggs and gently “roll” them in the mixture. Leave the eggs in this mixture for approximately 40 minutes so the pigmentation is sufficient. Then take the eggs out and rinse under running water. Finally, let them dry and you’re done.
