Easy preparation
Yes, you can buy dandelion oil. But why would you do that? This herb is so widespread that you can find it anywhere in a meadow or park. Just make sure the dandelions have not been chemically treated with any pesticides or are not near a road.
Ingredients
- freshly picked dandelions
- almond or olive oil
- half-liter glass container
- filter
- fine cloth
- glass bottle
Slow preparation
On a dry, sunny day collect dandelions. Spread the picked flowers on a towel or a kitchen paper towel and leave them for 24 hours.
Dandelions retain a large amount of water and need time to dry. If you do not let them dry properly, you will get an oil that is too watery. Expect the flowers to dry out a bit.
Then transfer them to the container. Pour oil over the flowers and close the container. Place in a sunny spot for 3 weeks. When the flowers begin to brown, squeeze the oil through gauze into a sterilized dark glass bottle. Store the dandelion oil in a dark, cool place.
Quick preparation
If you don’t want to wait, you can use a faster method. Add vegetable oil and dandelion oil to a pot. Stir the mixture in a water bath for 30-60 minutes at the lowest setting. Then put it into a container and leave it in the sun for one day. Then proceed as in the previous case. Strain the mixture and keep it in a cool, dark place.
How to use
If you suffer from liver disease and gallstones or suffer from constipation, as well as gastritis and other gastrointestinal problems, take 1 tablespoon 3 times a day before meals.
For joint pain, rub the oil into the painful areas 2-3 times a day (this oil also has an analgesic effect). You can also use the oil in salads – they will have a truly exceptional taste.
