Every woman has at least once destroyed a favorite garment of hers or a family member while washing. A sweater is 2 sizes larger, a T-shirt is 3 sizes smaller, a blouse faded… And all this happens because we rarely pay attention to the symbols on the labels. The picture in the form of an iron is clear to everyone, but there are others that are completely incomprehensible at important moments.

So that you have no further questions about the meaning of these symbols, I have prepared their meanings for you and also useful tips on how to properly wash certain types of clothing.

Before washing, of course, separate clothing by colors and material. Probably the most difficult items are silk and knits.

Washing silk

Silk clothing is washed on a gentle cycle or by hand at a temperature up to 30 ° C, without pre-soaking and without using bleaches. Rinsing or fabric softeners are allowed.

When hand washing, silk fabric must not be rubbed with hands or a brush and must not be wrung out. Rinsing should be done in warm water at 20-25 ° C. In this case you can add a little vinegar to the water – it will revive the color of the garment. Let silk items dry in the shade or indoors. They should not be dried in the sun or near heating appliances.

Washing knitted items

Knit items should be dried in a horizontal position, ideally laid on a light-colored towel. Under no circumstances dry them on a radiator.
