White clothing looks great, but the problem is that perfectly white only lasts for a few washes after purchase. Whiteness fades and clothing starts to yellow or turn gray. At that moment white clothing is no longer so perfectly white and we don’t wear it as much. We’ll reveal an effective home trick to perfectly whiten laundry, including curtains and underwear.
Home remedy for white laundry
These are perfect tricks from grandmothers who whiten their laundry using natural items they have at home. The laundry is beautifully white, fragrant and pleasantly soft.
What will you need?
- 1 tablespoon – baking soda
- 2 tablespoons – salt
- 1 tablespoon – washing powder
How to do it?
Prepare a small saucepan and pour warm water into it. Add all of the above ingredients to the warm water. Stir so everything dissolves. Once everything has dissolved, place the laundry into this water and let it soak for 15 minutes. If your bra or piece of clothing is really very gray, let the mixture act for up to 30 minutes.
Then thoroughly rinse the laundry in clean water.
This method of washing is especially suitable for delicate pieces of clothing such as underwear, curtains, blouses and similar items.
Tip
Never dry laundry on the radiator so that new yellow streaks do not form on the clothes.
Lemon juice
You can safely use lemon juice instead of fabric softener. It is therefore best to add it during the final rinse of the laundry. After washing, it is good to dry the laundry in the sun. You will see what whitening effects lemon has.
Acylpyrin
Acylpyrin perfectly removes all yellowed tones on white clothing. It is enough to dissolve 5 tablets of this medicine in water and then add the laundry you need to whiten to it.
Baking powder
This baking powder is perfect for whitening laundry. It is enough to add it to your regular laundry detergent.
If your T-shirts or curtains are really very yellowed, put these items into a basin, pour water into the basin and add 5 packets of baking powder.
Dish soap
There are cases when dish soap is actually significantly more effective than laundry detergent itself. If you are troubled by greasy stains on laundry, definitely make use of the power of dishwashing liquid.
Baking soda
For fighting yellow stains, baking soda will also be more than enough. Just mix 4 liters of water with a single cup of baking soda. Thoroughly dissolve the soda in the water and then place the clothes and laundry into the mixture.
Hydrogen peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is perfectly effective for whitening laundry. It can remove very stubborn stains on a shirt collar or in the armpits.
