We will need:
- Butter
- Mason jars
Procedure:
Cut the purchased butter into cubes so they fit into the jars. At most the butter may protrude upwards.
Arrange the jars filled with butter on a baking tray
Preheat the oven to 110 degrees
Place the tray in the oven and let it heat for about 15 minutes
As soon as you see the butter has melted, you can remove the tray from the oven
The butter in the jar should reach about 1 centimeter below the rim
Seal the jars
Put them back in the oven and leave for 45 minutes during which the butter will separate into liquid and solid parts
Then take them out of the oven and check the lids again to see if they hold and are not dirty with butter
Write the date on the lid when you made it
You can now consume the butter for up to 3 years
Storage
Store it like homemade preserves in a dark and cool place.
Always shake well before use.
