The human body is a perfect mechanism in which millions of processes occur simultaneously. Whenever one of its functions is impaired, the body sends us a signal about it. Yet we often do not pay proper attention to this signal and do not eliminate the problem in time.
It is therefore important to be able to correctly interpret such signals and thus prevent further, even more serious health complications.
Take a look at some of the most important body signals that you must not ignore:
1) Poor sleep, irritability, calf cramps
These signals indicate that you probably have a deficiency of magnesium and potassium.
Foods rich in magnesium include all kinds of nuts and seeds such as flaxseed, sunflower seeds, or almonds.
To increase potassium levels in the body, you should regularly consume leafy greens, such as kale, spinach, or chard.
Both of these minerals can also be found in prunes, apricots, and beets.
2) Craving salty food
This is a common symptom of some inflammation or infection in the body.
Most often it is a problem in the genital organs.
3) Dry skin
Dry skin is a sign that your body lacks vitamin E. You should therefore increase your intake of vegetable oils such as olive oil, pumpkin seed oil, or wheat germ oil.
Good sources of vitamin E are also sunflower seeds, hazelnuts, almonds, avocado, and broccoli.
4) Craving sweets
If you have an increased craving for sweets, you may be suffering from nervous exhaustion. You will need glucose to replenish your energy.
The best forms to supply it to the body are quality sugars like honey or dark chocolate.
5) Bleeding gums
Bleeding gums mean that you are lacking vitamin C.
At that time it is appropriate to drink plenty of herbal teas (to suppress inflammation) and to eat plenty of fruit, vegetables, and especially garlic.
6) Craving for raw foods
This is a symptom of a problem with the liver or gastritis.
Raw foods tend to soothe irritated linings of the digestive system, especially the stomach, and also reduce cramps.
7) Dry skin on the elbows
It is an obvious deficiency of vitamins A and C.
You should consume more fruits and vegetables, especially oranges, carrots, apricots, and pumpkin.
8) Craving seafood
In this case your body is probably lacking iodine.
You can replenish it either with marine animals (fish, shrimp, and the like), or take dried kelp seaweed.
9) Increased craving for sour food
This symptom suggests that your body needs acids to support the function of the gallbladder and liver.
Therefore eat more foods such as cranberries or lemons.
10) Brittle nails and hair
Brittle nails and hair indicate that you are lacking calcium and B vitamins.
Incorporate more fermented dairy products (yogurt, kefir), legumes, potatoes, whole grain bread, and wheat germ into your diet.
