In summer a scoop of vanilla ice cream is often a much better choice than a box of chocolates. It’s hard to find a person who wouldn’t like ice cream, especially if it’s of high quality and the heat outside is unbearable. But where can you find good ice cream?

There is no doubt that a substitute for real ice cream with a lot of additives is sold in packages – just look at its ingredients. What about frozen yogurt?

How to make it?

Let’s find out what the difference is between ordinary ice cream and the ultra-modern frozen yogurt. First the composition: yogurt contains more calcium, probiotics, protein and other useful components. Second, it has far fewer calories. This dessert can be eaten even while following a strict diet. Availability is also important. You can either buy yogurt or make it yourself. As with ice cream recipes, you’ll need very few ingredients. We offer you recipes for 5 different flavors. To make a serving of plain frozen yogurt, all you need to do is whip yogurt with honey and put the resulting mixture into the freezer. For a serving of plain yogurt you will need:

  • 150 g of plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 3 tablespoons of lemon juice

Strawberry

Take strawberries and yogurt in a 50:50 ratio (about 70 g of each product). The strawberries must be frozen beforehand. Blend them with the yogurt, honey (1 heaping tablespoon) and lemon juice (1.5 tablespoons), until you obtain a creamy consistency. Done! All that remains is to put it into the freezer in any mold and let it freeze (at least 6 hours, preferably overnight).

Tropic

The combination of pineapple will enchant lovers of exotic flavors. Take the same ratio of yogurt and frozen pineapple pieces (70 g each) and blend them with honey (1 tablespoon) and lemon juice (1 teaspoon). Pineapple has a fairly tangy taste, so you must be careful. Then add grated coconut to taste. You can lightly toast it in a pan beforehand. The dessert is ready!

Chocolate with banana

Take 100 g of frozen banana pieces, add 70 g of yogurt, 1 tablespoon of cocoa, 1 tablespoon of honey and blend until you get the consistency of chocolate mousse. Add a drop of vanilla extract to make your ice cream even smoother and tastier.

Cream

Take 150 g of yogurt, mix it with 50 – 70 g of cream cheese (for example mascarpone), add 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Whip for a few minutes and put the resulting mixture into the freezer. By the way, with small colorful candies or cake crumbs your ice cream will look fantastic.

Mango with lime

If you’re lucky enough to find a ripe mango, you can amplify its flavor by adding it to homemade ice cream. Take 100 g of frozen mango flesh, 70 g of yogurt, 1 – 2 tablespoons of honey and 1.5 tablespoons of lime juice (or lemon juice). Blend everything in a blender and add a little grated zest for flavor.
