He recommended at least 300 grams per day, ideally up to 1 kilogram. He argued that natural foods are essential and warned against an excess of fats and proteins.

  • Fats – Calorically dense, often unnecessary and harmful, especially in the form of cholesterol that can be deposited in the blood vessels.
  • Proteins – The body does not need an excess of proteins, especially animal proteins.
  • Carbohydrates – Favor natural ones, such as sweet fruits and cereals. Avoid refined sugar, which is high in calories and low in nutrients.

Amosov’s criticism of modern medicine

Amosov exposed shortcomings in modern medicine’s approach to treating diseases. He warned against blind faith in drugs and pills. According to him, medicine concentrates too much on treating diseases while overlooking the body’s defensive forces and its ability to heal itself.
