Chances are you had a cup of coffee this morning too, but after drinking it you threw the coffee grounds into the bin. That’s a mistake! Used coffee grounds still have a lot of uses – from your home and garden to everyday beauty care.

Coffee grounds

Common cosmetic products from the drugstore are often quite expensive and are products full of chemicals.
In contrast, a cup of used coffee grounds is basically free, because it would otherwise end up in the trash, and with it you can achieve truly great results in many areas.
Let’s take a closer look at how to use it for your daily beauty care.

Brightens and softens the skin

Coffee is an excellent remedy for damaged or excessively darkened skin.
Simply apply a mask made from coffee grounds directly to your face. In addition to lightening the skin, it will remove dead skin cells, unclog pores and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
According to the portal Prevence, coffee is also one of the best natural remedies to use as a scrub.
To enhance it you can mix coffee grounds with Epsom salt and lukewarm water. Gently massage your skin with this mixture. Finally, rinse your face with the water from this mixture.
Your face will soon become pleasantly soft and fresh.

Reduces cellulite

Are you troubled by cellulite? Then definitely try applying coffee grounds to the affected areas and leave it on for a few minutes.
The caffeine in coffee stimulates blood circulation, which helps remove excess fluids and fat. The skin then becomes firmer and tighter.
You can make an anti-cellulite mask by mixing 1 dcl of coffee grounds, 1 tablespoon of wine, 1 teaspoon of grated ginger and a pinch of kelp (a seaweed containing iodine).
Apply this mixture to your skin regularly and watch cellulite disappear before your eyes.

Enhances hair color

In practice, using coffee on hair enhances its richness and dark color.
Simply blend used coffee grounds with a little water, create a paste and apply it to freshly washed hair.
Leave the mixture on for a while, then rinse your hair under running water. Repeat as needed after each hair wash.

Removes puffiness and dark circles under the eyes

With today’s hectic lifestyle many of us do not get enough sleep, which results in puffiness or dark circles under the eyes.
Take coffee grounds, add a little water and apply it around your eyes. Leave it on for a few minutes and finally wash it off with cold water.
This little miracle will not only remove dark circles but also reduce eye fatigue, because the caffeine will stimulate blood circulation.

Works as a homemade soap

Need an extra dose of caffeine? According to experts, caffeine is absorbed into the body not only by drinking coffee, but it can also be absorbed through the skin.
So, if you happen to not like drinking coffee, you can make homemade coffee soap that will deliver caffeine into your body in this way.
You can find a recipe for such soap (in English) here.

Improves blood circulation

Another great way to improve skin circulation is with coffee ice cubes.
After finishing your coffee, refill the glass with water, stir, pour the water into an ice tray and freeze it in the freezer.
Then rub your skin with the ice cubes, which will greatly support blood circulation this way—whether on the skin of the face or other areas.

Supports hair growth

You don’t need to buy any miraculous products from the pharmacy or drugstore to support hair growth.
Simply take coffee grounds and apply them to your scalp. Leave it on for a while and then rinse it off under running water.
Do this regularly and it won’t be long before your hair is thicker and stronger again.

Soothes irritated feet

Many people suffer from dry and cracked skin on their feet. If this applies to you, we have an excellent recipe using coffee and coconut oil.
Take 200 ml of coconut oil, 100 ml of coffee grounds and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix them and then stir them again in a basin with warm water.
Soak your feet in the basin for 10 minutes.

How does it work?

The antioxidants from coffee and the moisturizing properties of coconut oil will refresh and hydrate your feet. Coconut oil also has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties and will therefore suppress possible fungal infections or unpleasant itching of the feet.
