The modern person today has at their disposal many different online quizzes, games and other ways to challenge their brain.
How many of them can you guess?
While in the past people bought various periodicals where their favorite puzzles awaited them and they could leisurely enjoy solving them, today a person can test their mental abilities on many, many websites.
One magazine, however, dove into the archives and brought back six puzzles that have not lost their power and impact even today.
Your advantage is that today you no longer have to wait a whole week for the next issue of the magazine to find out what the correct answer is.
We will reveal it to you right on the next page. Let’s dive into the mysterious world of logic.
1. What was the final score of the match?
Try to figure it out solely based on the expressions and interactions of the individual pairs. You will find the answer on the next page.
When analyzing the image you will discover that:
The first, fifth, sixth and seventh fans cheer for team no. 1.
Conversely, the second, third, fourth and eighth fans cheer for team no. 2.
From their behavior you can tell which team scored a goal and then you can calculate the score, which is 5: 3 for team no. 1.
2. Find six places where there is nonsense in the picture
1. The shadows of the road sign and the power line do not match.
2. The Ursa Major constellation is mirrored.
3. The Moon cannot be positioned between the Ursa Major constellation and Polaris.
4. There are no insulators on the power lines – there would be no power line without them.
5. Trees are growing in the space reserved specifically for the network cable and that would not be possible.
6. The road sign depicts an intersection in a place where there is only a single road.
3. Five questions
1. In which direction does the river flow?
2. Can you sail a boat on the river?
3. What stage of life is the sunflower in? Is it blooming?
4. When will the clothes dry?
5. To which city is the helicopter flying?
Answers
1. The strands of the fishing rods run in the water from the bank toward the left. That means the current also runs from the right to the left.
2. Yes, the river is navigable; there are navigation markers allowing boats to move.
3. The sunflower has already been cut from the ground: you can tell because it does not turn toward the sun; it is merely buried by a human hand into the ground.
4. The clothes will dry in no time. Obviously it is hot, the boys are wearing only light clothes and from the moving objects we also see that the wind is blowing.
5. The helicopter is not flying to any city: it is a firefighting helicopter and is dousing the forest.
4. Eight questions about the railway
1. How much time is left until the moon rises?
2. When will it get dark and night come?
3. What season is shown in the picture?
4. In which direction does the river flow?
5. How fast is the train moving?
6. How much time is left until the car drives onto the tracks?
7. What should the car driver be preparing for right now?
8. Is the wind blowing?
Answers
1. Not much time left; it is “old” (waning): we know this because it is reflected in the water.
2. Not soon; it is morning. We recognize this again by the moon reflecting in the water, i.e. a new day has just begun.
3. Autumn. From the position of the sun in the east it is clear that the birds are flying south.
4. Rivers in the northern hemisphere often have a very steep right bank; this leads us to conclude that the river flows from us toward the horizon.
5. The train is actually not moving at all. The signal shows red.
6. There is not much time left. The signs indicate to the car that a steep cliff is approaching; if the car does not want to drive onto the tracks, it will have to turn left soon or stop.
7. The driver should brake. A steep cliff is approaching, see above.
8. The wind is blowing. We can tell by the smoke coming out of the station house.
5. Riddle about two friends and their new house
Two friends, James and Tom, met near the house where both recently bought an apartment. James lives on the first floor of the house (assuming there is also a ground floor); his friend’s apartment is located two levels above ground. On which floor does Tom live?
The picture shows that all floors in the house where Tom and James live are the same height.
That means that James, who lives on the first floor, has to go up to the first floor; Tom, whose flat is located two storeys above ground, therefore has his apartment on the second floor. This question is, however, designed to mislead you.
6. Where did the illustrator make a mistake?
In the picture we see a forest in the temperate climate zone at the end of March.
This climate zone has the following specifics in the mentioned period:
1. Rabbits are greying.
2. Wild ducks do not have ducklings yet.
3. There are no acorns on the oaks.
4. Berries on the trees at this time and in this place are nonsense.
5. Lilies in the valleys are not in bloom.
6. At the end of March mushrooms like those we see in the picture certainly do not grow.
