What would a holiday be without the legendary Czech comedy I Enjoy the World with You, which was filmed in 1982 by director Marie Poledňáková and starred a number of legendary actors? Even this year the most-watched commercial stations will broadcast it and many viewers will happily sit down in front of the screen several times.
But what did you not know about the legendary film?
The story, which you have undoubtedly seen several times, tells of the winter holidays of three friends and their six small children. Over the many years since its creation it has won the hearts of millions of viewers. Today almost everyone knows that the comedy was once declared the comedy of the century. But let’s take a look at what you might not have known about the film.
What does the code name of the event »Ydykseb«, which is heard in the film, mean?
When you say it backwards, everything will become clearer to you.
The truth is, the film was not shot in the Beskydy. The Krkonoše served as the landscape. The cottage has been owned since 1963 by a group of canoeists who left it unrepaired. Many scenes were therefore filmed in studios in Prague.
In reality there were only a few trees in front of the cottage. Director Marie Poledňáková, however, wanted there to be more of them. That is why several were added artificially.
Do you remember the scene when Pavel Nový wipes the boy’s bottom with pine needles?
Marie Poledňáková stated in the past that the boy had no idea the actor had a needle in his hand, and that is why he screamed so convincingly.
The comedy was filmed in the cold, so the actors tried in all sorts of ways to smuggle alcohol to the square.
