Sugar is a silent killer. In the body it can cause total chaos, and it even underlies the development of many lifestyle diseases. Once you have an excess of it in your body, you should start dealing with the situation before one of the serious health problems manifests itself.
Risk
When there is too much sugar in the body, the risk of heart disease, obesity, fatty liver, diabetes and many other health problems increases.
You should therefore monitor the level of sugar you consume daily to be safe. Be especially cautious if you have passed the age of forty.
Excessive thirst and weight loss
Each of us should drink two to three liters of water a day for the body to function properly. However, if you notice that you are almost constantly thirsty and the problem is not resolved even after drinking water, you may have a high blood sugar level. Unusual dryness in the mouth may also occur.
Weight loss is also a noticeable symptom. If you keep the same eating habits and don’t exercise more but still lose weight, don’t take the dropping kilos lightly. When the level of insulin in the body is insufficient to process glucose, the body tries to compensate for this dysfunction, which can result in weight loss.
Dry skin
Excess sugar leads to the increasing growth of yeast in the intestines. These then prevent vitamins and minerals from being absorbed naturally, which results in a marked deterioration of the skin. You may notice acne, eczema or dry, peeling skin.
Blurred vision and mental health problems
You may not need glasses. A high blood sugar level commonly also causes blurred vision. The cells of the eye deteriorate and the ability to focus is lost. In such a situation, it is best to consult your doctor as soon as possible.
People with high glucose levels are also more emotionally unstable. They suffer from depression, anxiety and are often unnecessarily irritable. If you remove industrially processed, sugar-filled foods from your diet, you can gain a significantly better mood.
Slow healing and decreased concentration
With an excess of sugars, the body is tired, gets out of breath quickly, has poor concentration, and is even unable to heal naturally and quickly when injured. Cardiovascular health, among others, is also at risk.
Although it may seem that a candy or another sweet food has given you energy, it is only a short-term process, and afterwards you feel even worse.
Hunger
The body then seeks opportunities to regain the lost energy, so you may start craving sweets. You are constantly hungry and don’t really know what for. Try to consciously control your cravings and adjust your diet so it doesn’t harm your body.
