Whether a person falls ill with a serious disease or simply as a result of aging their time comes, the approaching death apparently gives advance notice.
All of these people therefore get the chance to make peace with their departure in their own way and to have enough time to say goodbye to their loved ones.
Dead relatives
As soon as a person begins to see their relatives who are no longer alive, it is, according to scientists, a kind of forgiveness and reconciliation. When a dying person sees a dead relative, they stop being afraid of death and are relieved of pain.
It still remains a mystery, however, whether these are truly hallucinations or whether there really exists another world from which these relatives come to the person.
Animals
We all certainly know that animals can sense things that we humans do not even suspect. It is a kind of sixth sense that gives them the ability to sense approaching death. The best-known case was the cat Oscar, who lived in one of the American hospices and announced death by lying down on the bed of a sick person.
Changes to the body
Scientists have also found that a dying person’s facial features sharpen, and if they are wearing any jewelry, gold or silver, it can even blacken. The change in features is usually caused by weight loss and the blackening of jewelry can be explained by a change in the composition of sweat.
Double
This term also appears in psychiatry and neurology, where it is called autoscopy. Essentially it is a hallucination during which the dying person has the opportunity to observe themselves as if sitting in a cinema and watching a film in which they themselves play the leading role.
Remembering
Healthcare workers who come into contact every day with elderly and sick people confirm that very often just a few hours before death, the person begins to reminisce. However, it is not about telling what happened the day before; in their memories they go back several decades, for example to wartime or the birth of children.
