As we age and our immune system weakens, our risk of falling ill, according to doctors, increases dramatically.

Although it is recommended that you undergo a full check-up every two years, you can try these few tests at home for peace of mind.

They take only 30 seconds and you will find out whether everything is OK with your body.

We have compiled a list of 5 super quick tests that will tell you whether you need to visit a specialist or have nothing to worry about.

1. Firmly press the tips of your nails

With the thumb and index finger of your right hand, press the top of the fingers of your left hand in the area of the nail tips. Start with the thumb and press for 3 – 5 seconds. Then continue the same with the other fingers.

After releasing the pressure, blood should return to the finger within 2 seconds. If this happens, your body has adequate blood circulation. Your fingers are closely connected to your internal organs and if the above test is painful for you, something may be going on.

Pain in individual fingers means, according to experts, the following:

Thumb: if pressing the thumb was painful for you, it may be a sign of a lung problem.

Index finger: closely connected to the large intestine; pain in this finger is a sign of problems with the large intestine and constipation.

Middle finger: pain in the middle finger is a sign of heart problems.

Ring finger: the ring finger is also closely related to your heart, and if pressing its tip is painful for you, it may be a sign of heart problems.

Little finger: Pain in your little finger indicates problems with the small intestine.

2. Clench your hand into a fist

In this test, clench your hand into a fist and hold it in the same position. After 30 seconds open your fist and you will notice that your palm has turned pale.

When you squeeze your fingers into a fist, your blood vessels are compressed, which prevents blood flow into your hand. When blood rushes back after you release your hand, it means your vessels are working as they should and that you are healthy.

On the other hand, if the return to the usual pink color takes a while, it may be a sign of atherosclerosis.

3. Stretch your buttocks

1. Comfortably lie face down on the floor.

2. Leave both arms lying extended along the body.

3. Keeping the left leg pressed to the floor, slowly raise the right leg upward.

4. Bend it at the knee and hold this position for 30 seconds.

If you can do this successfully, your body is healthy.

But if the test was painful for you, you may have a problem with your glutes, one of the strongest muscles in your body.

4. Hold your legs up for 30 seconds

1. Lie on your stomach, face down.

2. Leave both arms lying extended along the body.

3. Raise both legs upward while the body remains still.

4. Hold this position for 30 – 35 seconds.

If you were able to perform the exercise above without jerking or moving your legs, your body is healthy.

On the other hand, if this task was very difficult for you, you may have a problem with your abdomen or the lower part of your spine.

5. Lift your upper body and remain motionless

1. Comfortably lie face down on the floor.

2. Slightly raise the upper part of the body, including the arms.

3. Hold this position for 30 – 35 seconds.

If you can manage this test without difficulty, your body is healthy. If not, you may have some problem with your spine.

Please keep in mind that these tests are not an alternative to tests performed by professionals, but only a quick self-check that you can do at home.
