Cleaning the house is not an easy task. Whether you clean yourself or someone does it for you, each of us would like to simplify this activity as much as possible. Cleaning always takes a lot of time and is extremely exhausting. As the saying goes: “Necessity is the mother of invention”. That’s why we have prepared a list of ten tricks today that will be truly useful for you and will simplify this unpleasant task.

1. Cleaning the sponge

Did you know that many dangerous bacteria begin to multiply in the sponge meant for cleaning kitchen dishes? Its contamination can be very unpleasant for your plates or cutlery. However, just place the sponge in the microwave for 2 minutes from time to time. That will reliably kill all bacteria.

2. Cleaning the washing machine

Follow these steps:

  • Pour 2 glasses of vinegar into the washing machine.
  • Set the washing machine for approximately 1 hour.
  • After the cycle finishes, run the empty washing machine again on a shorter full cycle.
  • Check the washing machine for any remaining dirt. If there is, use a sponge with a little white vinegar and wash it.
  • Pour 2 glasses of bleach into the washing machine and let it run for 1 hour.
  • Meanwhile, clean various nooks, knobs and lids.
  • After the cycle ends, let the washing machine run an empty shorter full cycle again.
  • You’ll be surprised how clean your old washing machine will be.

3. Floor baseboards

Don’t you also hate those stains and dirty baseboards on the floor? Use cloths soaked in fabric softener and after cleaning they’ll be like new!

4. Stains on carpets and mattresses

This secret recipe will help you get rid of stains on carpets and mattresses in a few seconds. Take hydrogen peroxide and a bit of dish soap, mix them well and then use this mixture to remove stubborn stains.

5. Limescale on faucets

No matter how hard we try, removing limescale marks from bathroom or kitchen faucets is not an easy task. Take wax paper and wipe the faucets with it. This will prevent water drops and fingerprints from sticking to the faucets.

6. Ring stains in the toilet bowl

Have you ever wondered why those deposit rings at the bottom of the toilet are always so hard to clean? Try buying a porcelain cleaner at the drugstore, pour a little into the toilet in the evening and let it work overnight. In the morning you’ll be surprised how the rings suddenly disappeared.

7. Pleasant smell in the apartment

Ensuring a pleasant scent in the home is among the most important tasks when cleaning, especially if you’re expecting guests. You’ll need 2 ingredients: 2 capfuls of pure vanilla extract and 1 cup of coffee. Mix the coffee and vanilla extract in a bowl and then put them in the oven. Leave them there for about 1 hour at 150°C. The smell that spreads from the oven through the whole apartment will be amazing.

8. Various sticky residues

Cleaning up food remnants scattered around the kitchen by your small children is extremely exhausting. Mix equal parts baking soda and coconut oil. You will get a preparation with which you can easily wash any sticky mess.

9. Cleaning the bathroom

Fill the bathtub with the hottest water possible. Then use any alkaline cleaning agent. Hot water increases the effectiveness of alkaline cleaners by more than double.

10. Cleaning light bulbs

Did you know that light bulbs also need occasional cleaning? Dirty bulbs are an unflattering mark on the homeowner, even if everything else is perfectly clean. This is especially true if you have types of lamps at home where the bulbs are visible from the outside. Because of their fragility, bulbs are harder to clean than other objects. However, if you use a microfiber cloth, it will make the job significantly easier for you.
